The Montgomerie Course, has gained a reputation as one of Ireland’s toughest golf courses. The inland layout, the Montgomerie plays very much like a links course in that the fairways are rolling, the rough is incredibly tough and there are virtually no trees. Add to the mixture well over 100 exceptionally well-positioned and often cavernous bunkers and you will only begin to appreciate the quality of this course. Though tough, everything about this course is quality and you will need to think your way around it to have any hope of playing to your handicap. This course played host to the Irish Open in 2005.
