Scotscraig
From the 1st, the fairways are not over-generous but accommodating enough to the simple, straight strike. Many find it preferable to use irons off the tees throughout the front half. The 4th hole, a Par 4 of 365 yards, presents the course at its most challenging with a strategic decision whether to drive to get close to the green or lay up safely, but then face a long lob to a very difficult target. Generally speaking, Scotscraig is a test of accuracy rather than length and will reward the player who studies the form and plans each stroke with the next in mind.
